In this hour-long burlesque history course, you will get an overview of the history of burlesque and then dive into the performers of the past 10 years who have been changing the face of burlesque and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

Theoretical teaching about dance anatomy with a focus on what you as Burlesque dancers need to know. Including understanding of joints, muscles and fascia, performance optimization and injury prevention.

Based on Burlesque's anatomy, we use this practical dance workshop to take the knowledge we have gained to the dance floor and play with the technique. Learn to understand and know your body and the demands you make on it, which makes it possible to develop even more and at the same time be proud of what you can and do!

And all that jazz! This lyrical and performance based genre which is often seen in Musicals are often danced with a hat and a cane, making the genre an obvious addition to our Burly camp week. The grace of jazz, clear lines and lyrical touches of choreography are often steps that can be used in the Burlesque genre.

In this playful workshop, Headmistress Ann will teach you the fundamentals of choreographing movements. Through fun improvisation games, we'll explore new ways to generate movement and then learn techniques for piecing it all together into your own choreography. Whether you've attended the summer camp before or not, this session will offer fresh approaches to choreography, and this time participants will end up with their own unique choreography.

The workshop will begin with a presentation, and will then turn into a dance class with a short warm-up and choreo-work. Your teacher Emmarald is a burlesque performer who has studied at one of Hollywood’s major film schools and has years of experience working in the film industry.

In this workshop Miss Chrissy Kiss will work through a toolset to first explore and analyze different sized moves, how to make a move seem bigger or smaller, how they carry emotion and work through a small choreography combo to see how our toolset can change the outcome.

Push through the cliche and start creating truly unique work. Beyond the Cliche is a 2 hour intensive workshop designed to encourage artists to make bold and challenging work. In an industry such as Cabaret/Burlesque where art meets entertainment, standing out is crucial and within this space we will learn the techniques required to develop an authentic performance. With 14 years as a professional artist; award winning idiot Lolo Brow uses their extensive knowledge to guide artists through exercises and discussion to deep dive into act creation. End the Summer Camp with an interactive makeup session with Lolo Brow! In this session, students will have to apply their own makeup while enjoying a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. This is not a makeup tutorial, but rather a chance for everyone to come together, bond, and enhance their makeup skills. Throughout the session, there will be time for Q&A sessions where participants can ask Lolo Brow for advice and tips. Previous students have expressed interest in having time to prepare for the end-of-camp show together, making this workshop the perfect opportunity to get ready as a group.
