Confidence and classic moves with Miss Mokki
A workshop dealing with confidence on and off stage. How to find your true stage character and how to fake it till you make it! Breathing and stress exercises, how to relax on the stage and enjoy the moment, and how to transfer that confidence into everyday life. We will touch base on classic burlesque moves and how to use them in improvisation once the confidence is found. Feel free to bring a notebook to write down what you learn.

Level: Beginner/intermediate. Also good for those who teach burlesque.

Floor Flow and Musicality with Miss Mokki

Floor work is a great way to lean into flexibility and flow, mixing burlesque with pilates techniques to get the most of the movement without putting too much strain on the body. The focus will be on connecting techniques, and how to play with choice of music and how it effects the quality of movement. Fun exercises that strengthen the core muscles to make your burlesque moves easy breezy (or at least look like they are).

Please note: We will be going down on the floor and standing up a lot. If you have sensitive knees, feel free to bring kneepads, but it’s not a must. Please wear clothing that you can move in and a bottle of water - this class will be physical!

Level: Mixed

Flexibility and Inversions with Ellie Steingraeber

Want to work on your flexibility and get something to take home to work on? This workshop is for those looking to gain flexibility in their acrobatic training as well as aspiring contortionists. You’ll learn a variety of drills and sequences designed to safely shape, lengthen, and strengthen an acrobatic body. We’ll look at splits, over-splits, back-bending, and inversions such as forearm stands and handstands. This workshop teaches you how to understand and find balance upside-down in handstands, headstands and other arm balances. Class begins with core conditioning, wrist prep and alignment exercises that prepare all levels of students for inversions.

You’re encouraged to bring your camera as a training tool.
